Two Women Army Officers Selected To Train As Combat Helicopter Pilots

In a historic move, the Army has selected two women officers to train as combat helicopter pilots for its aviation wing, officials said on Wednesday.

The selection came six months after Army Chief General MM Naravane cleared a proposal to induct women as pilots.

As of now, women are allowed in air traffic control and ground duties in the Army aviation wing.

The two women officers will undergo training at the Combat Army Aviation Training School at Nashik in Maharashtra, the officials said.
