Championing Women in the Cockpit with Alpha Aviation Group

As a result of the huge gender imbalance that has historically been present in aviation since its inception, it’s still more usual for passengers to see a female flight attendant than a female flight crew member.

Some companies, though, are trying to change things, championing the number of women in the cockpit. We speak to one of those – the Alpha Aviation Group – to find out the root causes of the problem area and what aviation can do about it.

Gender inequality in the aviation sector is nothing new. According to the International Air Transport Organisation, the number of women holding a C-level position is in the single low digit.

This is particularly evident when it comes to women working on aircraft: how many times have you seen a woman captain on your flight? How many more times have you seen women working as flight attendants?
