Noora Belselah epitomizes today’s young female Emirati professionals whose hard work, dedication and commitment continues to push her career up the corporate ladder, particularly within the aviation industry.
As a highly experienced aviation industry professional with a hybrid background in Commercial Aviation along with over 10 years within Aerospace and Defense, Noora has been at the forefront of managing and leading key and high value contracts. And, because of her skill and expertise at fixing, troubleshooting and finding the most suitable solution for customers and clients by combining different concepts and business models, her accomplishments have earned for her the praise and admiration of colleagues and top executives.
With her continued success in managing two international and two local projects for Royal Jet valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, Noora is also being groomed for an even bigger role. This comes as no surprise given her successes throughout her career and her unwavering appetite and hunger for learning. In her current role as Project Director, Noora has already earned the distinction of being the highest ranked female Emirati on Royal Jet Group’s executive and management team and is now the only female Emirati in a directorial level post at the Abu Dhabi-based premium private jet charter company.
Her continuous quest for knowledge and strong appetite for learning resulted in finishing her studies in Flight Operations Management from the Emirates Airline University. She is also a certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP). Today, Noora continues to pursue her postgraduate MBA degree in project management at the College De Paris in France.
Among the key highlights of Noora’s professional career include being instrumental in establishing the current International Movements Operations Center (IMOC) project of Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) in 2014. In 2015, she was subsequently promoted as Automatic Identification System (AIS) Manager as she continued her PMP career progression at GAL by being a crucial part of various successfully awarded contracts and projects.
Another key highlight of Noora’s career was having been instrumental in the progression of what had previously been a two-year contract with a customer into a five-year deal. As Project Director, Noora is responsible for managing and ensuring smooth and seamless delivery of all services within Royal Jet’s massive contracts and projects, including with the Armed Forces of the UAE. This translates to contracts worth millions of dollars that rests upon her shoulders to fulfil, while ensuring that a high-level delivery is made for her country.
With Royal Jet being a private company covered, governed and regulated by commercial rules, policies, and regulations, Noora describes her role as being hybrid because she often finds herself having to find solutions in executing commercial arrangements within military policies and scope. These include converting commercial standards and best practices into military projects such as operations and process applications, among others.
Throughout her career, Noora has learned and developed the expertise to integrate civilian practices into military processes, earning her numerous awards from the UAE Armed Forces GHQ for her outstanding work and commitment to delivering top-quality services to the UAE Armed Forces. Because of this, Noora now considers herself well capable of wearing both commercial and military hats and representing both Royal Jet and its customers due to her deep familiarity and knowledge of both entities.
Apart from being completely immersed with the ins and outs of the aviation industry, Noora also excels in photography. She recounts having previously covered fashion week events in New York and Milan in 2018 where some of her photographs have landed in pages of top fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Arabia, and many more.
In addition, Noora also keeps herself busy with creating business concepts and ideas, which she happily shares with close friends.
With her highly successful career in the aviation industry, Noora cites and is thankful for the opportunities created by the UAE’s leadership for Emiratis – both male and female – to succeed in their chosen path. She is also extremely grateful to Royal Jet’s leadership for giving her the opportunity to work on multiple projects that pushes and encourages her to perform well above and beyond what is expected in her role.
Clearly, as a female Emirati aviation executive who intends to spend the rest of her life to further contribute to the advancement of the local, regional and global aviation industry, encourage and inspire young female Emiratis in aviation, and aspires to be the first female Emirati to lead an aviation company in the UAE, Noora truly deserves to be recognized as among the top women achievers in the UAE this International Women’s Day.
